01 Dec 22 – New USCCB President, Archbishop Timothy Broglio

Today’s Topics:

1) Gospel – Mt 7:21, 24-27 – Jesus said to his disciples: Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Bishop Sheen quote of the day

2, 3) Archbishop Timothy Broglio, newly elected president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has said there is “no question that the crisis of sexual abuse by priests in the USA is directly related to homosexuality.” A few weeks ago he repeated the observation: “I think it’s certainly an aspect of the sexual abuse crisis that can’t be denied.I think it would certainly be naïve to suggest that there is no relationship between them.” Austin Ruse has written, defending Broglio’s position, citing hard data from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice

4) Who you are meant to be: Learn to appreciate who you are! Yes, you’re called to be a Saint, and “we should aspire to be better in many aspects. But we should not desire to change the essence of who and what we are. We can admire the good qualities in others while appreciating our own self and being content with who we are and what we have”
