When Calls the Heart is Hallmark Channel’s flagship TV series and the No. 2 top-rated scripted show in all of Cable for 2019. It is now in pre-production of Season 7, which will launch in early 2020. The show was co-created and is executive produced by Brian Bird and Michael Landon, Jr. Based on the novel by best-selling inspirational author, Janette Oke, When Calls the Heart chronicles the life and journey of Elizabeth Thatcher, as big-city teacher from a wealthy Eastern family, who moves west to teach school in a hard-scrabble coal mining town in 1910. And there she finds herself and her purpose in life, and falls in love with a handsome Canadian Mountie.
