03 Jul 23 – Celebrating the 4th of July Like a Knight

Today’s Topics:

1) In-studio, Mark interviews Greg who is doing what many Brother Knights do in early July, sell fireworks.  The Alhambra Council hosts their largest fundraiser of the year at their TNT Firework booth located on Main St. and Hidalgo Ave. by the Smart & Final store in Alhambra, CA.  Proceeds from the sales go to support many of the Council’s good works, such as:  Wheelchairs for the needy, scholarships for Catholic School students, and disaster relief, to name a few,

2) Mark then interviews Grand Knight William Gil of the Three Kings Council located at Epiphany Catholic Church in South El Monte, CA.  The Council’s TNT Firework booth is located on Santa Anita Ave. and Tyler Ave. in the parking lot of Carl’s Jr. Restaurant in South El Monte.  This council also gives their money to the American Wheelchair Foundation and they support the Christian Refugee Relief Program,

3) Past Grand Knight Corey Schultz of the Miraculous Medal Council in Montebello, CA, tells Mark of the good works his Council does with the monies raised from selling fireworks.  The Council started their own 3 on 3 basketball tournament for people with disabilities.  Their booth is located on Montebello Blvd. by Paramount Blvd. next to the Montebello AMC 30 Theater,

4) Lastly, Mark speaks with Past Grand Knight Gerardo Canton of the St. Christopher Council in El Monte, CA.  Their TNT firework booth is located on Peck Ave. and Lambert Ave. across the street from the Jolly Jug Restaurant in El Monte, CA.  One program they run that is funded by firework sales is their Christmas Toy Drive.  They give over 600 toys to needy boys and girls in the community.
