1) In the first segment the term “Advent” is defined as “to come to,” who we are coming to is Jesus Christ in Christmas. To prepare for the coming of Christmas we must pray, fast, and give alms

3) In this segment the Fourth Precept of the Catholic Church is discussed. We are called to observe the days of fasting and abstinence as defined by the Church. Saint Thomas Aquinas tells us that through fasting we obtain self-mastery which is important to our preparation for the coming of Christ
4) The final segment focuses on almsgiving, which is presented in the Fifth Precept of the Catholic Church. Through our almsgiving, we exemplify the love of Christ to those in need. The Knights of Columbus have many community programs which assist men in fulfilling the Corporal Works of Mercy
